Launching and awarding new contracts, obtaining important official permits and starting the necessary surveys in offshore wind power have been the crucial offshore wind activities taken by PGE in 2022. This shows how intensive this year has been for PGE Group in the offshore sector. The Group enters the new year, preparing itself for receiving location permits which are the last necessary step before the investment decision concerning Baltic projects is taken.
PGE and Ørsted were granted decisions of the President of the Energy Regulatory Office on individual prices in contracts for differences for both of jointly developed stages of the Baltica Offshore Wind Farm – Baltica 2 and Baltica 3. Earlier, in September 2022, the amount of the acceptable level of support for both stages of the project was approved by the European Commission as a result of individual notification of support for the Baltica OWF. The individual price in the contract for difference (CfD) for both stages of the Baltica OWF was set at the maximum allowable level of PLN 319.6/MWh.
The Regional Director of Environmental Protection in Gdansk issued a decision on the environmental conditions for the connection infrastructure, i.e. the transport of the produced power from Baltica Offshore Wind Farm, Baltica 2 and Baltica 3, to be implemented in two stages. This allows the project’s investors – PGE and Ørsted – to continue the project and to start working on the building permits.
