Representatives of companies from all over Poland and abroad interested in becoming part of the supply chain for the Baltica 2 project took part in a meeting organized for them at the PGE National Stadium. They had a unique opportunity to meet individually with suppliers of components and services already contracted by PGE and Ørsted to discuss cooperation opportunities.
A special event dedicated to suppliers of components and services who want to participate in the supply chain the process of creating the supply chain for Baltica 2 project – one of two stages of the Baltica Offshore Wind Farm. The meetings will take place on October 10, 2023 at 10:00 AM at PGE Narodowy stadium in Warsaw. This will be the fifth event for suppliers organized by PGE and Ørsted. Previous Suppliers Day in 2022 attracted almost 800 participants, including over 500 representatives of Polish companies.
Ørsted and PGE Group signed contracts for laying of the export and array cables for Baltica 2 – one of two stages of the Baltica Offshore Wind Farm. Earlier, they have finalised agreements for the supply of offshore export cables, which will be used to transfer power from offshore wind farms to land.
The Ministry of Infrastructure of Poland issued decisions on granting permits for new seabed areas for development of offshore wind farms. PGE Group will be able to develop about 3.9 GW of capacity apart from projects that are currently under development.
- The European Investment Bank (EIB) approved the in-principle financing of the Baltica OWF project to be implemented by the PGE Group. The total financing package amounts to EUR 1.4 billion.
- This is a significant step towards ensuring an optimal financing structure that will enable the construction of PGE's first offshore wind farms in the Baltic Sea.
PGE and Ørsted joint venture has signed contracts with Navantia-Windar and Orient Cable (NBO) for delivery of foundations and array cables for Baltica 2, which is the first stage of the Baltic Offshore Wind Farm.
PGE Group and Ørsted have signed an agreement with consortium of SEMCO Maritime and PTSC Mechanical & Construction for Four offshore substations – each equipped with two transformers – will collect power generated by wind turbines, transform it and export it to land.
The PGE Group scored the most points in the application procedure for the seabed area 45.E.1, for which it applied together with Ørsted. The location is directly adjacent to the area where PGE and Ørsted are building the Baltica 2 project. PGE and its partner will be able to build an additional 210 MW on the new basin. The area has approx. 17 square kilometers and is located approx. 32 km from the seashore.
PGE and Ørsted - companies building the Baltica Offshore Wind Farm - have signed an agreement with a consortium made of Biuro Studiów, Projektów i Realizacji "Energoprojekt‐Katowice" SA and "Energopomiar" Sp. z o.o. The consortium will be acting as a Contract Engineer when constructing the land connection of the project.
Ørsted and the PGE Group have signed an agreement with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy for supplying offshore wind turbines for the Baltica 2 project with a total capacity of about 1.5 GW. It is Poland’s largest-ever renewable energy project and will produce enough green energy to cover the power consumption of approximately 2.4 million Polish households. Ørsted and PGE expect to be able to commission Baltica 2 by the end of 2027.
