The drilling is the next stage of the Baltica 2 project – the largest offshore wind farm in Poland, developed together by PGE and Ørsted. Using modern HDD technology, cable lines will connect the offshore and onshore sections while respecting the environment and landscape.
On July 31st, a symbolic steel cutting ceremony officially marked the beginning of production of components needed for the construction and subsequent safe operation of the Baltica 2 Offshore Wind Farm. The anode cages and mooring structures will be manufactured by the Baltic Industrial Group (part of the state-owned ARP Group) at its factories in Gdańsk and Gdynia.
Preparatory works are underway in the Baltic Sea that directly precede the construction of Baltica 2, a joint-venture by PGE and Ørsted. Boulder relocation on the seabed is a key stage in preparing the site for the installation of foundations and underwater infrastructure for the largest offshore wind farm in Poland.
