- Offshore wind energy uses wind and water to produce clean energy. As a company implementing the Offshore Program in the PGE Group, we decided to support a sports discipilne driven by these two elements. We are very happy that we are becoming a sponsor of Polish windsurfing. We will keep our fingers crossed supporting our athletes, including during the Polish championships, cup competitions and regattas - commented Dariusz Lociński, President of the PGE Baltica Management Board.

PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna already cooperates with Polish sailors and canoeists. It is the sponsor of, among others, the Polish Yachting Association and Polish Canoe Federation. For years, PGE has also been supporting windsurfer Zofia Klepacka, medalist of the Olympic Games in London.

The PGE Group is currently implementing three offshore wind farm projects in the Baltic Sea. Baltica 2 and Baltica 3 offshore power plants – developed in cooperation with Ørsted – are to start operating in this decade. Its planned operation start is 2026-2027.They constitute the Baltica Offshore Wind Farm with a total installed capacity of approx. 2.5 GW. The third project, the Baltica 1 offshore power plant, is to be put into operation after 2030, and its installed capacity will be approx. 1 GW. By implementing further offshore wind farm projects, PGE intends to fulfill its strategic goal of achieving at least 6.5 GW of offshore generation capacity in the Baltic Sea by 2040.
