PGE Baltica, the company developing the offshore wind farm program within the PGE Group, became the Main Sponsor of the Polish Windsurfing Association (PSW). This is another sports discipline related to water and wind in which the PGE Group got involved.
PGE Baltica from the PGE Group and the Institute of Hydroengineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IBW PAN) signed a letter of intent, which paves the way for cooperation to develop the offshore wind energy sector. IBW PAN may support PGE, among others in the field of research on harbour infrastructure necessary to operate offshore wind farms. This is another research unit of the Polish Academy of Sciences from Gdańsk with which PGE will cooperate.
Almost 800 representatives of potential suppliers, subcontractors and other entities interested in cooperation in the implementation of the Baltica Offshore Wind Farm, including over 500 from Poland - - joined a special virtual event organized by PGE and Ørsted. The recording is now available online.
PGE Baltica, subsidiary of PGE Group, is starting the stage of measuring of wind resources and metocean data collection for the needs of the Baltica 1 offshore wind farm. The campaign will be carried out by EOLOS Floating LiDAR Solutions, one of the most experienced providers of this kind of marine research. It will start in the second half of May 2022 and will last for about two years.
PGE and Ørsted have launched a tender procedure for the construction of onshore infrastructure necessary to evacuate power from both stages of the Baltica Offshore Wind Farm, i.e. Baltica 2 and Baltica 3. The tender results are planned to be announced by the end of this year.
