PGE Baltica, a PGE Group company, has signed a framework agreement with “PROJMORS” Biuro Projektów Budownictwa Morskiego sp. z o.o. for technical consulting related to the execution of an investment project for offshore wind power in port areas.

The scope of works includes technical consulting during the execution of OWF projects in the field of port infrastructure, including, among others, preparing expert opinions and carrying out technical and economic analyses as well as cost estimates of potential investments, preparing and issuing opinions concerning design documentation in the field of functional and spatial concept, functional programmes, building, technical, and detailed designs. The agreement also covers performing a function of a technical consultant as part of procurement procedures, including analysis and assistance in developing tender documentation.

We are currently implementing the largest offshore wind project in the Polish area of the Baltic Sea, and such investments require detailed analyses of key project components. One of them is the maintenance and port facilities for offshore wind farms. We are happy to collaborate with yet another Polish entity, Projmors company, in this regard – said Bartosz Fedurek, President of the PGE Baltica Management Board.

The agreement also covers consulting in the field of project management, including indicating project risks and meeting investment schedules, as well as offering support in the field of design work, covering building information modelling (BIM).

The agreement also provides for commissioning works related to issuing opinions on the results of subsoil surveys and other geotechnical studies and, if necessary, conducting control geotechnical surveys (inspection and verification), additional control test loads confirming the required carrying capacity of piles, tiebacks, etc., as well as conducting quality surveys and tests to verify the properties and technical parameters of applied and integrated materials indicated by the contracting authority.

PGE Baltica selected Ustka as a location for its operation and maintenance base. The construction of the base, which will serve the purpose of operating PGE Baltica offshore wind farms, is currently in the final phase of demolition of remains of buildings found in the area of the future base. At the same time, the final stage of designing the base is under way. Construction of key back facilities for offshore wind farms built by PGE and Ørsted will begin in 2025.

The operation and maintenance base will be located in the western part of the Port of Ustka, in the area of a former fish processing plant. The maintenance centre will serve the purpose of ongoing monitoring of PGE wind farms in the Baltic Sea as well as planned and ad hoc repairs of turbines operating offshore. Vessels carrying maintenance crews and spare parts will depart from here.
